Our Bedroom Become His Playroom..

It is so hard to make Arsyad plays in his room. He will, if either one of us was there with him, playing together in the room. If not, our bedroom will be his favorite place. Sometimes it is fine with me, but most of the time I can't stand with all the messes! I know it is hard to get my house clean 24-7 with a 17 months old baby. But then, I try my best to make sure everything will be back to as it was, before I went to sleep or before we went out.

When I saw if he doesn't want to play with that toys anymore, I'll immediately put it back in the storage box. Doing it everyday makes him know that he needs to clean up his toys everytime he is done playing with it. So, here he is trying to put back all the flashes card back into the box. And yup!! He did it on his own, until the last piece of the card. I'm so proud of you baby~ :-)

Owh~ he'll clap his hand everytime he managed to put it back in the box. And I'll clap too so that he will enjoy doing it. :-)

But then, the most favorite way of cleaning up is hiding all the toys, NOT keeping it back to its place. Haha. Arsyad loves to do that. Sometimes he'll put it behind our bed, in the laundry basket, behind the TV, in our wardrobe and anywhere that we can't even think to find it there. I just laughed out loud when I found something everytime I clean up the house. Clever boy huh~ :D

How to Brush My Baby's Teeth?

Do you know how to make our baby wants to brush his teeth? It is so hard to do it with my lil one. Sometimes, I just let him play with the toothbrush coz he won't open his mouth everytime I wanna brush his teeth. I did brush my teeth together with him, so that he'll follow me. Turn out he wanted to help me by giving me his toothbrush and trying to put it in my mouth.

Now gigi geraham Arsyad dh tumbuh. Lagi susah la nak bersihkan. Haaaiiyyyaa~ Sometimes I just wipe his teeth with clean cloth. Have to force him a bit tho. I dun know how to make it fun and more interesting so that he will brush his teeth without forcing him too. Btw, last time we went to Guardian to buy some stuff, and then I saw this First Teeth Baby Toothpaste. I know my baby can't use any toothpaste yet coz he doesn't know how to spill it out. But then, this toothpaste is fluoride free and safe for baby to swallow.

It has active milk enzymes and is naturally flavored with apple and banana. It is recommended for babies age 3 months and above. It is a bit pricey tho, for a small tube of 40g, it cost RM25.90. So, my hubby didn't let me buy it. He said we need to teach him to like brushing his teeth first then start using the toothpaste. But then, what if the toothpaste can make him like to brush his teeth? Coz it has flavors. And, all babies love bananas right? hahaha.. :P

Please help me mommas. Give me some ideas to make my son loves brushing his teeth instead of me forcing him too. :-(

It was Indeed A Great Lunch Ever!!!

Yesterday, my lovely hubby offered to make something for lunch as I'm not feeling very well. Usually, he'll just go out and buy something instead of offered himself to cook. Hehe. So, I just said okay and continue lying down and resting with Arsyad keep on asking me to play with him. Not really resting and relaxing then. Haha.

And so off he went to the kitchen and start cooking. I didn't even bother to go down and asked if he need any help coz I know he can cook and also clean up everything once he done. He used to cook maggi, fried rice, nuggets, beef burger, sausage and anything which is simple and only took few minutes to prepare. And, he'll always clean up everything especially if I did the cooking. Lucky me!! Hehe. For me, cooking is not that tired, but the cleaning part is!!

About an hour later, he asked me to come down and had our lunch together. He managed to cook spaghetti carbonara. Eventho it didn't taste like the one at Delicious but it was not bad at all!! I'm so impressed with you sayang~ hehe..

Birthday Complimentary Treat

Well~ It is not my birthday yet.. Hehe.. 27days more to go till I turn to 26!! Still young right? :P

My heel felt really hurt these few days. No, it didn't crack. But I think bcoz of I always stand up too long and I didn't wear slipper in the house. After applying Ellgy, it felt much more better ( I love Ellgy :-) ). Huh~ I wish someone can massage my feet and my whole body coz I really need one. Hehe.

Hubby did promise me to take care of Arsyad while I'm pampering myself with facial and spa. But, there's always something came up everytime I wanna go to do it. Little Artist In The Making..

My baby has started showing his interest in drawing, or should I say scribbling at the age of 15 months old. He always wanted to have the pen or pencil that I hold, tried to imitate me writing on my notebook. And he did his first art at my sista's house together with his cousins. I was so impressed coz he can actually hold the pencil in a right way. Owh~ I didn't manage to snap the picture of his first art - was busy watching him, afraid if he'll made his art at the wrong place coz it is not our house. Hehe.

So, we bought him a drawing block and Luna color pencils at MPH, afraid to buy the crayons yet. Maybe it is too early for him coz sometimes he'll put it in his mouth. I just let him play around with the color pencils and always remind him to do it on the paper, eventho sometimes he "over-doing" it. Hehe. Meaning that he "ter"- scribbling on the floor, on my bedsheet and on the chest drawer. Luckily not on the wall.. yet!! No table for him, so we just let him did his art either on our bed or on the floor. But, mama or papa must be there during the activity!! Hehe.

Then, conteng!!

Well, babies are always curious, they want to know more and more while exploring things around them. So, arts is one of them. That is why me and hubby just encourage our baby to explore and learn arts as this will stimulate his right brain, inspire creative thinking. I know most parents afraid if their children will make a mess around the house coz I did, especially if my lil one started to "conteng-conteng" on my wall. But then, if we started on the right way and always remind them on how to do it, eventually they'll understand and remember how to do it right and then it will become their habit. I always come to think on how my mom taught all of us (14 of us!! Yup!! I have 14 siblings!!) not to make a mess, always to keep everything neat and tidy. It is not by scolding us but keep on showing us the right way and always remind us everytime we want to do something. So, I tried my best to apply it to my baby. So far so good, coz I'm enjoying our playing time together, every minute of it. Hehe.

Ni lah hasilnya.. Haha.. Car, star, moon, dll tuh papa nye arts.. :P

It is okay to become dirty in the process. Don't let the mess stop us from giving our baby the freedom to explore their creativity. Anyway, that is a natural traits of being a baby right? They get dirty in learning anything; eating, drinking, drawing, and lots more. So, just let them be. We as parents must give them freedom, tools and support to unleash their skills. Trust me! You will enjoy every minute of it, watching them dancing, acting, trying to talk like you, cook like you, helping you doing the laundry and lots more!! Owh~ I wish I can write every minute of what my baby did every single day, like his journal!! :D 

Btw, I would like to share something quite interesting, Drawing Development in Children by Viktor Lowenfeld and Betty Edwards. It shows us the timeline of drawing development in children from ages 2 through 16 years old. 

Scribling Stage (2 Years) - Random scribbles begin at age one and a half, but quite quickly take on definite shapes. Circular movement is first bcoz it is most natural anatomically. 

The Stage of Symbols ( 3 Years) - After weeks of scribbling, children make the discovery of art: a drawn symbol can stand for a real thing in the environment. Circular form becomes a universal symbol for almost anything. Later symbol becomes more complex, reflecting child's observations on the world around him.

Pictures that Tells Stories (4 Years) - At four or five, the child begins to tell stories or work out problems with her drawings, changing basic forms as needed to express meaning. Often once the problem is expressed, the child feels better able to cope with it.

The Landscape ( 6 Years) - By 5 or 6, children develop a set of symbols to create a landscape that eventually becomes a single variation repeated endlessly. A blue line and sun at the top of the page and a green line at the bottom become symbolic representations of the sky and ground. Landscape are compose carefully, giving the impression that removing any single form would throw off the balance of the whole picture.

Eubos Cream Bath Oil - Cleanses and Protects My Baby's Skin

Some of you might know about this product, especially for those who has a very sensitive skin. I did use this product during my study coz I got a really2 sensitive skin. It did work for my dry skin, and made my skin smooth and not itchy anymore. However, I'm stop using it coz I think it is quite expensive. It costs me around RM28 (if got sale) for 200ml bottle. Btw, there are products for adults but I did prefer the baby's product as it is mild and my dry skin condition is better than before.

And now I'm using it for my lil one. His skin is just like mine, very dry and it become worse when he starts sweating all over his body. Every now and then we find a small patch of rough skin on his arm and neck. After using this Cream Bath Oil for the past 3 days, I noticed that there is no more rough skin on his neck and arm. It claims that this cream bath oil doesn't just clean your baby's skin; it also helps provide your baby with relief from dry skin that itches and tightens as well as other conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, nappy rash, cradle cap and prickly heat that may irritate your child's sensitive skin. 

The first time I used this cream bath oil on him, I felt the immediate effect. After wiped him dry, I touched his skin and it felt smoother and more supple than before. I love the smells too!! Try it for yourself on your baby and enjoy extra soft baby skin!!

After shower, I did apply him Eubos Sensitive Lotion Dermo-Protective. It helps to moisturize, protects and repairs the skin. I just tried the sample given and I fell in love with it once I used it on my baby's skin. Hopefully this Eubos Cream Bath Oil and Lotion are able to keep the rough patches at bay. :-)

Crystal Bowersox and Lee DeWyze Advance to 'American Idol' 2010 Finals

American Idol 2010 has come to the Finale! As expected Crystal and Lee will be the top 2 finale.. I just love watching Lee's performance last night compared to Crystal. Both of them were very consistent from the very beginning. Eventho Lee didn't outshines in the audition like Andrew Garcia, but he managed to show his natural talent and this is what it is all about! I just love watching Lee's performance compared to Andrew. But not my hubby. He is a big fan of Andrew Garcia !!

I hope Lee will be the American Idol 2010. Let us watch their last night performance. :D
